What does “Counter – 302 error – out of paper code” (Print Manager error) and/or “Printing halted enter new paper code” (InScribe Legacy Software) mean?

These errors mean that you are out of paper code and will not be able to print until a new one is entered. Locate the last paper code issued to you with your last supply order and follow the instructions to enter it. If your paper code is entered and you are still getting an error that your computer can’t locate the paper code, call InScribe for assistance.

How do I enter paper code?

Before entering your paper code, make sure your counter is connected and your printer(s) are connected and powered on. Once you’ve completed these instructions, you are authorized to print the products listed on the accompanying InScribe Packing List.

  1. Double-click the InScribe icon on your desktop.
  2. When the “#printers available” message appears, click OK.
  3. Type “install” and click OK. This will open a job named Install that you can use for this installation. Click yes, and then InScribe Legacy Software will open.
  4. Click Tools and select Design Management.
  5. Click Enter New Paper Code and click OK. Type your four-digit Paper Order Number and click OK.
  6. Type your 20-character Paper Code and press the Enter key. If an Invalid code message appears, click OK and repeat steps 4-6 for this paper code. If not, continue to step 7.
  7. When the “Code Accepted, Thank You” message appears, click OK and exit InScribe Legacy Software.

What is paper code?

Paper code is required to print all Paparte and InScribe products. A paper code is issued with each paper or supply order. The paper code enables you to print the quantity of invitations, banners or gifts purchased. Each time you print through the Print Manager or InScribe Legacy Software, paper code is deducted. Paper code is regulated by your counter, so be sure that it is always connected to your InScribe Computer.
